Something new from my friendly neighborhood Avon lady

Ok, not really from the neighborhood, but someone from the office :p

Anyway, have I told you guys that I'm a moisturizer junkie? If not, well I am! I currently don't have any brand/product loyalties yet though, so every soon-to-be emptied moisturizer bottle/jar/container is an opportunity to get something new, and possibly, even better. Don't get me wrong, I'm already loving some brands that I've tried, but I haven't found something PERFECT enough to address all my skin concerns. To be honest, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a daunting task to find something like that since our skin condition changes depending on your hormones, the weather, your stress levels, etc. - so what might work for you now, might not work for you next month, or maybe even tomorrow! In the meantime, let me show you what I'm willing to subject my face to, all for the sake of finding the perfect moisturizer:

Avon Anew Rejuvenate Revitalizing Cream - Day and Night Formula

I've been interested in trying out the Avon Anew line since it's cheap, and also after reading some reviews and seeing it in the Allure Best of Beauty list (can't remember what year though). So when I noticed that I'm almost out of the moisturizers I'm using right now - Clinique Moisture Surge and Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing lotion, I started weighing options in my mind on what to buy next. Our Avon lady in the office seems to have perfect timing because the next day, she lent me her catalog, and the Avon Anew Rejuvenate cream had a promo - buy the 30g Day cream, and get the 30g Night cream for FREE!! It was a great deal, and that's how I ended up writing this post right now. Review coming up in a few weeks! :)

Charm Luxe Flat Top Brush

These days I'm really thankful that the local beauty industry is even bigger than it was a few years ago. I'm no expert, but make up artistry now seems to be more mainstream than it was before. And with this comes an increasing demand for affordable brushes, so it's great that there are more and more enterprising individuals getting into the beauty business to address this demand. More options mean more competitive price points, and  more quality products!

One local brand that I'm liking now for their affordable brushes is Charm.

I found out about this brand because of rave reviews from other bloggers, especially for the Charm PRO Make up Brush Set

I wanted to buy this set, but I still have another set from Suesh which I got as a gift 2 years ago. So I got the Charm Luxe Flat Top Brush instead!

It's here!!!

Say hello to the newest addition to my make up family!!!

Online shop of the month: Carefreeshopper!

In line with this blog's theme, I've decided to do a monthly feature on the internet's best byproduct for busy and/or lazy girls: Online Shopping!

So for the month of May, I'm starting off with my favorite local online store: CarefreeShopper

Sneak Peek: Charm, Dashe, and Ms. Make up brushes!

One thing I learned in Make up school is that you don't really need expensive make up as long as you invest in your tools. And by that, I mean your brushes! Sure, our fingers work perfectly well when applying make up on ourselves, but when you're putting liquid foundation on someone else's face with your hands - it's kinda gross. Unfortunately, the best make up brushes are all expensive. Brushes from MAC cost Php 1000 and up in the Phils, and don't even get me started on brushes by "luxury" make up brands! What's a budget-conscious girl to do??

Well in my case, I went online and found cheaper alternatives.

Top to Bottom: Dashe Stippling Brush, Charm Luxe Flat Top Brush, Ms. Make up Angled Eyeliner Brush

Stay tuned for my reviews of each brush :)

Clinique Moisture Surge

Anytime anyone asks me what my must-have beauty product is, hands down, my answer will always be moisturizer. Ok, I admit I'm cheating a bit since a lot of products fall under it. From lip balms to lotion -- they still technically "moisturize" your skin right? But with dry skin like mine, it REALLY is a MUST if I don't want to end up looking all weathered and wrinkled by the time I'm 30 (blame it on the genes).

So with all that being said, here's my review for Clinique Moisture Surge.

What it is:
Light, comfortable cream/gel plumps skin with hydration for a full 24 hours. Fine lines, flakiness and tightness are washed away. In their place—a sense of supple, firm, vibrant well-being, even through shifts in humidity. One ‘drink’ and skin looks and feels happier, healthier.
