OCC Lip Tar review + mixing post

This is a long overdue post, though not without reason. I got these lip tars back in August but only got to make this mixing post now because the colors are SO HARD to photograph!! I really don't understand why, I suppose the colors are too intense for my digicam? I'm no profressional photographer so I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get accurate photos of the color. At first I thought it was because of the dark/cloudy August and September weather so I was waiting for the weather to clear up so I could take photos in bright and natural lighting. Come the end of October, the weather is finally sunnier, but I still couldn't take proper photos. Anyway I decided to just post this and compensate by adjusting the colors through Photoshop, haha.

OCC lip tars (L-R) in Feathered, Rx, NSFW, Petty Beige, and Anime

I got these colors because I figured I could just mix these to get the colors I wanted. Now I think I'm just missing black (for making darker shades) and yellow/orange (to make coral shades), then I'd have all the basic colors I need.

Now for some swatches:

The colors of Petty Beige and Anime are a bit off in this photo, Petty Beige should be lighter and slightly more neutral-toned, while Anime should look less orange-y

Petty Beige and NSFW

NSFW and Anime

Feathered and Rx

Since there's no OCC store in the Phils, and I didn't want to buy through their website, I bought my lip tars from Hoops and Loops in Facebook. They still have a few on hand as of today, just in case you're from the Philippines and want to order! :)

Neutrogena Body Oil

Ok, I think I don't really have much to say when reviewing bodycare products, but I'll try for this one since I love it:

What it is:

Body Oil is a delicately light sesame formula that instantly vanishes into the skin, sealing in moisture. Skin feels moisturized, soft, silky and looks radiant.
    * Lightweight

    * Absorbs quickly

    * Available in Original and Fragrance-free

Now that you know what it is, read on for the review! >>

Quick Post: 80s inspired look!

Halloween's almost here, and this year, I'm thinking of wearing an 80s costume complete with garish makeup. Not a very creative costume to be honest, but I'm not really 100% sure I'll celebrate Halloween anyway so it's probably best not to go all out. Here's the look I tried out, I suppose it's not really authentic 80s, but more of 80s inspired:

Next time I'm making the blush more streaky!

Eye makeup

What are you wearing for Halloween? :)

Etude House Collagen Essence Mask

Have you ever been to a Korean beauty product store and actually noticed their mask selection? I for one, never noticed it until recently, since I almost always go straight to their makeup counter. But one day, after buying a bunch of falsies from Etude House, the saleslady at the counter told me that I'm only about 40 pesos off from qualifying for the Etude House membership card. Of course I got swayed by the sales talk, so I grabbed the cheapest thing in the store that looked like something I would use - a mask!

I remember getting this because at that time, my face was in need of a facial, however I didn't really feel like spending on one. So the next best thing is to just get a mask.

Digiperm experience at Tony and Jackey

When you've had the same type of hair since forever, it's hard not to get sick of it.

Untouched hair circa 2008

So back in 2009, I started changing it up a bit.

Please excuse the face. Haha. Shortest hair ever since 4th grade. Summer 2009

Went light brown in Late 2009

A year (and 4 shades lighter than black) later, I decided it's time for phase 2 of my hair abuse. Time for a perm! Unfortunately my hair was only up to my shoulders then so I had to do some waiting first before it was long enough for the kind of curls I wanted.

Fast forward to September 2011, my hair was finally long enough for a perm. (This pic is actually from earlier in 2011 but it's pretty much the same length)

My hair now.

Quick post: Brow look using the MUFE Eyebrow corrector

I posted a review on the Makeup Forever Eyebrow Corrector a week ago although I wasn't able to post pictures on how it looks like on my brows. So in case you're interested, check out the pictures below!

Eyeshadows are from the UD Naked Palette. Dark brown eyeliner is from Prestige Cosmetics.

Then I put a drop of the corrector on the back of my hand - I know I said in the review for the corrector that you'll save more product if you use a palette or spatula, but I was in a hurry so I didn't have time to bring out my palette.

A pinhead-sized amount is enough if you use a palette or spatula, but since I used the back of my hand, I used about 1 and 1/2.

Coat a side of your spoolie with the corrector. It's also easier to use if you bend the spoolie tip at a slight angle so your hands don't have to adjust as much to the angle of your brows.

FINISHED brows! If you noticed, there's not much definition at the edges of my brows since the spoolie technique is better for tinting brows and filling them in. I don't mind though, since again, I was in a hurry, and also I wasn't going to be photographed for a photoshoot where bright lights might wash out my eyebrows.

This looks much neater than the before picture, right? :)

This is me, about 7 hours later.

My brow color looks different due to the lighting, but they still look nice and groomed!

Ok, that's it! Have a great Monday! :)

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturizer

I still remember the last post I made on getting new moisturizer since I've run out, and once again, I'm making another for the same reason. I'm beginning to think that moisturizers would be my most-reviewed type of skincare product!

A few months ago, Neutrogena released the Hydro Boost skincare line, though I'm not here to tell you all about it since I have no idea how exactly the line works. LOL. What I do know is that they promoted heavily via pinay fashion and beauty bloggers, and guess what, it worked! On a visit to Watsons, I went home with a jar of the water gel moisturizer from the line.

Even before buying this though, I already noticed the counter that Neutrogena had for this in their SM department stores. My first impression of it from just viewing the counter and their promotional materials was that it suspiciously looked like a knockoff of the Clinique moisture surge, as it seemed to promise the same kind of claims, and even the packaging looked similar (but with different colors of course). This only got me interested in it even more, since if I can get a cheaper version of the one from Clinique, then this would be perfect!

Strong brows for S/S 2012 + A review on the MUFE Eyebrow Corrector

The spring/summer 2012 fashion week season is almost at an end, but one beauty trend that has emerged across New York and Milan catwalks are strong brows.

From bushy...

 To heavily drawn-on...

Looks like this is going to be a look that would be all over magazines a few months from now! So because of the whole full brows beauty trend, I felt like doing a review on The Makeup Forever Brow Corrector which I bought a few months ago. I haven't used it much until recently when I found that it's actually the easiest and fastest way to get groomed, shapely, and full-looking brows.

Read on for the review! :)
