Sleek Makeup Blush in Rose Gold and Pomegranate

My previous review was about a makeup product that I wasn't really a fan of... and for this next one, it falls in the same category as well. I don't like wearing blush, simply because I'm lazy. I don't think that it's something girls need to use in order to look more decent than usual, even if I myself tend to look sickly pale when I've been away from the sun for a while. But these blush shades piqued my interest since I found the shades interesting, and they're affordable too! The time was ripe to get new blushes again. (A lame excuse, I know.)

Rose Gold is a peachy-pink shade with gold particles. I think this shade works for most skintones since peach-pink blushes are usually the most natural-looking blushes for skintones that are not in the extremes (not too light, and not too dark).

Pomegranate is a plum-pink shade with shimmer, although the shimmer isn't as noticeable when compared to Rose Gold.

NYX Round Lipgloss in Vamp Red

Lipgloss is one of those makeup products that I've never really been a fan of. This is mostly due to the type of lips that I have, mine are rather full, pale, and uneven, so I never found the need to emphasize those less than desirable features with shiny lip products.

Clear lipgloss is the worst for me... when wearing it without any colored product underneath, I tend to look like I just ate something terribly oily and forgot to wipe my mouth with a napkin :(

But earlier this month, I was going through the Digital Traincase site to buy some other stuff and found out that the NYX Round Lipglosses were on sale... at 99 pesos only!!!

Why not try it, right? To be safe, I got the darkest shade that they had, to avoid that oily look that I always seem to get when wearing lipgloss.

I needed more dark lip products in my kit anyway. Read on for the review!

Cute find: False Eyelashes Case

I was going around Daiso (the Japanese discount store) earlier today and found this case:

So cute right? Almost too cutesy for me, but at 66 pesos, I can forget about being too old for cutesy stuff. Haha!

Make Up Forever HD Primer

This is my first review for 2012!

Before the MUFE HD primer, the only face primer I had was the ever so famous Smashbox Photo Finish. It worked too well for me that I didn't feel the need to buy other brands anymore. That is, until I got feedback from a friend that she doesn't use the stuff since she usually breaks out after using it. After some research (a.k.a. going through the Smashbox primer's negative reviews), I found out that most of the negative reviews that were given to the Smashbox primer was due to a lot of people being allergic to some of its ingredients. This discovery has encouraged me to diversify my kit a bit more, since I don't do makeup on myself only, and I wouldn't want to cause an allergic reaction in case I put makeup on someone else! A legitimate excuse to spend on makeup again, don't you think? Haha!

Then a DealGrocer/Make Up Forever sale after that realization happened, and I ended up taking home the MUFE HD Primer.

Goodbye 2011! (and some holiday looks)

2011 is the year I finally started a beauty blog after putting it off for so long since I didn't really want to start one because I doubted my writing "skills." In addition to that, I wasn't really expecting to have stuff to write about that would exceed 140 characters -- a reference to Twitter where I stuck to making "comments" on beauty related stuff before this blog. (On a related note, you can follow me on Twitter here)

A couple of months and a few reviews/features after, I'm still posting! I gotta be honest though, I'm completely on holiday mode right now, hence the lack of updates. My December was a whirl of reunions, parties, and relatives visiting from different countries added to my usual routine of work+lounging around so any beauty blog related stuff I have been doing was focused on my face. In short, I was just wearing more makeup than usual. With that, I give you a bunch of the holiday looks I did for the merry month of December:

Gold and Glitter

Deep(er) Set Eyes

Subtle Smokey

Purple/Brown/Silver Smokey Eyes

Okay enough of my face now!

Thank you so much to everyone who took some time to check out this little corner on the internet :)

Happy New Year!!!
